We will explore the likelihood of experiencing cognitive changes associated with Parkinson’s Disease and the most common ways these difficulties present. Strategies for dealing with these challenges will also be discussed.

This course examines strategies for working with older adults to address thinking issues and other challenges that occur, such as client agitation.

We will focus on how to promote mindful awareness, including learning mindfulness exercises to improve focus and relaxation.

Understand of the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral difficulties that can accompany dementia. We will explore some of the stresses caregivers and families experience and how to assist with this. And because none of us are getting any younger, some personal health strategies to help each of us maintain a healthy brain will be offered.

We will explore the mental health issues that accompany aging. Both the normal mental health issues that come as we age, as well as the unique ways mood and anxiety disorders present.

We will discuss how the brain develops and works, focusing on the child's mind. We will then explore how stress impacts the brain and how mindfulness techniques can be used to lessen this, with some techniques demonstrated.
